Srinagar valley as rightly known as ‘Heaven on Earth’ is a perfect example of beauty, abundance and hospitality. During the past years, Srinagar has seen many ups and downs, but it has still managed to not only sustain but to maintain their essence and their culture. This makes the place one of the most sought after tourist destinations.
With the assimilation of the massive Army troops, there emerged a sudden need for a school to educate the children of the army men and to provide them with a safe and cohesive learning atmosphere. Thus the Army Public School, Srinagar was established within the Badami Bagh Cantonment (B.B. Cantt.) on 15th May 1981 with a dictum of providing quality education. Till 1982 the school was up to class X and was upgraded to class XI in 1983 and to class XII in 1984.
